英语学习|说话加上“please”,就是有礼貌了?

在中国,我们常说“礼多人不怪”
所以到了说英语,很多人都习惯在句子的后面加一个“please”
他们认为,“please”和“thank you”是最有礼貌的词语,多说总没有错。
如果这样写,你就错了!
原来有时候说话即使带了“please”,是很不礼貌的!
我们感受一下,下面三组句子:
你可以再做一遍么?
Could you do that again, please?(最客气)
Could you please do that again?(还算客气)
Please could you do that again?(不客气,有命令意味)
所以please的客气程度是
句尾(很客气)> 居中(一般客气)>句首(命令)
please放句尾,避免口气太直接
May I leave early today, please?
我今天可以早点走么?
please放在句首,指令清晰明确。
Please open your book.
请打开书。
如果想要礼貌客气,也不一定要用please,用could和would一样可以表示请求。
你可以把文件发给我么?
Could you possibly send me the file?
Would you mind sending me the file?
