每个人都喜欢在会议开始前聊点什么，为了使会议有效进行，应在短暂的寒暄之后马上进入正题。那么，英语会议的开场白又该说些什么好呢？
如果是公司内部会议，例如：
OK, everybody, we seem to be complete. Can we get started?
大家好，看来我们的人都到齐了，我们可以开始会议了
让会议/讨论开始，例如
"OK, everyone. Let’s get the ball rolling. Come and sit down and we’ll start the meeting."
好了各位，我们开始吧。来，请坐，会议要开始了。
开始谈论某一特定的话题， 例如
"Let’s open with a summary of what each of you has achieved this week."
首先从你们本周完成的工作总结开始。
介绍另外一位演讲人， 例如
"I’d like to hand over to Dave to explain our plans for the next quarter."
我想接下来15分钟由戴夫来解释我们的计划。
计划讨论某事， 例如
"Today, the first item on the agenda is to decide on a new supplier."
今天，议程的第一项是决定新的供应商。
点明会议目的，例如：
The purpose of this plenary session is to make a general review of our activitiesduring this past year, and to propose new plans for activities during the coming year.
这次全会的目的，是对我们过去一年的工作作一个全面的回顾，并对明年的工作提出新的计划。
讨论最重要的议题， 例如
"It’s time to get down to business. How much will this cost and how much time will it save me?"
现在言归正传，花费是多少？节省的时间有多少？
介绍会议时间安排，例如：
We've scheduled one and a half hours for the meeting.
我们计划这个会议会要一个半小时。
如果是与客户开会，例如：
OK, if you like, we can start now.
好， 如果你愿意，我们可以现在开始会议
如果是国际性会议，例如：
Since the majority of the required number is present, the meeting is formally declaredto be convened.
